Work Product Lifecycle

All OASIS Technical Committees are chartered to produce one or more deliverables. This section defines the approval process, from Working Drafts through Committee Notes and OASIS Standards and Maintenance Activities.

As of 15 October 2010, the TC Process defines two tracks:

• Standards Track, which is designed for Work Products intended to become Committee Specifications and OASIS Standards and contain Normative Portions.
• Non-Standards Track, which is designed for Work Products intended to be explanatory or educational in nature and are not implementable in and of themselves. Work Products produced under the Non-Standards Track are not covered by the patent provisions of the OASIS IPR Policy.
