A "context" is a context in which a specialized vocabulary is employed. This may be an individual organization, a larger business community, or a particular project (or initiative).
A number of DEXs are identified within a given context and each DEX is defined using the specialized vocabulary of its business context.
Introduction

The OASIS PLCS Technical Committee is the technical committee within OASIS responsible for defining, developing, testing, and publishing of OASIS PLCS DEXs and associated components such as templates and reference data.

The committee is also responsible for the liaison with ISO TC 184/SC4 - the ISO sub committee responsible for developing ISO 10303-239.

This context contains all DEXs and associated components such as templates and reference data that are the responsibility of the OASIS PLCS TC.

If data exchange scenarios are to be supported for which additional reference data is required, then new OWL ontologies should be created that import from http://docs.oasis-open.org/plcs/ns/plcslib/v1.0/data/contexts/OASIS/refdata/plcs-rdl/plcs-rdl-en.owl. The new OWL ontologies then becomes Reference Data Library used by the DEXs.
