Task specification Business Information Overview

This section provides a high level overview of the business information that can be represented by this DEX. A more detailed overview of the information is described in Section: Task specification: Business Information Requirements , and a detailed definition of how the information is represented using ISO 10303-239 PLCS is provided in Section: Task specification: ISO 10303-239 Representation.

Task specification information is summarized in Figure 7 below.

The information exchanged is contained within a message that is sent to the recipients, and includes:

Product in focus

The product in scope for the task specification. Can be either a part, or an element in a logical breakdown structure of a defined end item.

A maintenance task is a defined maintenance procedure that is to be performed on a defined product.

A task specification may be subdivided into task steps.

A task may require a set of resources in order to execute the task. Required resources may include:

Material resources (spare parts, consumables, test equipments, tools etc);
Facilities and infrastructure;
Human resources;
Organizations (e.g. line of maintenance, work centre, or specific organization);
Documents (used as an integral part of the task, e.g. check lists which is to be filled out and signed).

A task trigger describes the conditions which may cause a task to be executed.
