Abstract

The Task Set DEX specifies how to use ISO 10303-239 (PLCS) [1] to represent a set of typical tasks that can be carried out on complex products such as aircraft, ship, off-shore equipment, automotives and so on. The DEX represents information such as:

Identification of the item upon which the task is performed;
Identification and specification of the task;
Identification and specification of resources, including personnel, required to execute the task;
Specification of locations at which the task may be performed;
Specification of the organizations which can perform the task;
Justification for the existence of the task;
Identification and specification of the preconditions for task execution;
Identification and specification of the result of performing the task.
